Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Deep Day Care and Women welfare center

It’s a great support from people that they have accepted us in their lives and we were able to conquer the goal which was placed, 25 years before.

            ……… It was the 6th Nov. the day light spread and the children started assembling in the big ground.  The day was divided in to several activities sports competitions baby show, thanks felicitation etc.  Their were about 400 people assembled for the celebration.  The people were amazed to see the excitement of the children.  As they were carrying their colourful flags in their tiny hands, with simple smile putting little steps forward.  The Annual sports started with a word of prayer.  This was the time for thanking God.  Who was our anchor during last 25 years of struggle, helping the light of awakening to penetrate through the thickness of darkness of ignorance.  This showed the love of God which was shared with them.
 

Sports :-………. The whistle blowed and the sports started.  It was overwhelming to see small tots hopping, running & enjoying themselves, Just after that  they were served their snacks which was according to their taste purees and sweets Yami-Yami….
 

Baby Show:- On the same day we had competition for healthy mother and child.  Babies rapped in clothes in their mothers’ lap with smiling faces was another star shining on the Deep Day Care Centers’ anniversary Day.  Mothers came in their colourful saries with small babies as they were quite exited about the program.  They arrived before time and showed enthusiasm in registering their babies for competition .  It was really a baby’s day out.  Docter and nurses started weighing and checking the babies.  They were devided in two groups.  In each group the healthiest baby’s mother got the prize because she took proper care of the child. 

Cultural Program :- The Chief guest inaugurated the main program by burning the lamp.  It was followed by a prayer dance saying  ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Then came  the tribal girls with beautiful and rhythemic dance.  These girls came from 70 miles away from Jarhagaon. They can center is planning to open today care centers in the trible area, so they happily covered this long distance to attend the celebration.  Then the day Care Center kids sang…..  As the butterfly flies in the sky we will fly in the sky.’  This song attracted the audience the most.

            Then there was time for the falicitation to all the teachers who had worked with Deep Day Care Center in the previous years or also those who physically supported the activities.

Declaration of a new project :-   ‘Tomoko San Project’            

            Then came forward our chief guest, the Member of Legislative Assembly and put flowers in front of Tomoko San's big photo in respect of Tomoko San and after that he declared Tomoko San's project opened.  Mrs. Nivedita Mohanty briefly told about Tomoko San project.  That this project is an education support program for school dropouts (girls) . This program is dedicated to Tomoko San who died in road accident on 8th March 2007 during her visit to Deep Day Care Center. 

Mrs. H. Prakash presented the brief report of the previous activities of Day Care Center which was very much appreciated by our chief guest the Member of Legislative Assembly .  He admired the service of Day Care Center which is working among the children and women.  He is deeply touched.  and so he said that he will be there always to help the people of Deep Day Care Center at the same time he challenged the  people to come forward and get involved in the upliftment of the rural situation.
